problem still present in 13.04, one solution is to add this to /etc/default/grub
GRUB_RECORDFAIL_TIMEOUT=2 Grub seems to be using two separate timeouts, one for clean reboot and one for 'recordfail'. The default for recordfail case is -1 (infinite) it totally unappropriate for a (headless!?) server. see also bug 462888 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/657871 Title: timeout in grub2 not working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/657871/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
