@Jane- Please update your kernel to the stock Ubuntu kernel available
now in Software Updater (3.5.0-28.48). We think the problem has now
been fixed. Technical details...

We haven't had any other reports of "GPU hung" on the XPS13 (commonly
installed with 64-bit Ubuntu) which makes me suspect that the problem
can only manifest on 32-bit Ubuntu installs on the XPS13.

To test the issue, I installed 32-bit Ubuntu Quantal on my XPS13 (same
model as @Jane's) and ran many hours of GPU benchmarks (two unigine
demos, glxgears, and youtube simultaneously).

Running that GPU stress test on the bug report kernel
(3.5.0-28.47~spcrevertedb777ab9, i386), I got one instance of the bug after
about 2 hours:
[drm:i915_hangcheck_hung] *ERROR* Hangcheck timer elapsed... GPU hung

Running that GPU stress test on the -updates kernel (3.5.0-28.48, i386),
I had no instances of "GPU hung" after about 8 hours.
