Do you happen to know if there is a specific event that causes the
crash?  Does connecting/removing an external device cause it, or is it
entirely random?

Also, just to be sure this is a regression, can you test the 3.0 kernel that 
was shipped with Oneiric(This requires installing the linux-image .deb just 
like for the mainline kernel):
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.0-oneiric/

If it's confirmed that this doesn't happen in the 3.0 kernel, I can
perform a kernel bisect to identify what commit introduced this
regression.
