Public bug reported: Binary package hint: python-xen-3.1
During normal "apt-get update" process, it was failing in "Setting up debconf". See "http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=3092478#post3092478". This was the error message: 1 Setting up debconf (1.5.14) ... 2 Compiling /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/xen/util/auxbin.py ... 3 File "/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/xen/util/auxbin.py", line 39 4 return os.path.realpath(os.path.join(path(), '. 5 ^ 6 SyntaxError: EOL while scanning single-quoted string 7 8 dpkg: error processing debconf (--configure): 9 subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1 10 Errors were encountered while processing: 11 debconf (line 5 points to the ending period ".") Since I haven't had time to play with Xen, I uninstalled the "python- xen-3.1" package (shown as the owner of the auxbin.py file by "dpkg -S"). I would gladly re-install Xen to help track this down.
