Public bug reported:

I have two different PC's:
PC1. Asrock X58 Deluxe, Intel i7 (1st generation), Intel SSD 320 Series 160GB,
Palit GeForce GT 240 (Nvidia)
PC2. Intel DZ77GA Board, Intel i7 (3rd generation), Intel SSD 520 Series 180GB,
Asus GeForce GTS 450 (Nvidia)

Installing Ubuntu 13.04 (64bit Unity Desktop) on PC1 - I seams to get repeated
crashes at every 4/5 boots.
(this PC has been able to successfully run Ubuntu 64 version 11.04, 11.10,
12.04, 12.10 - never any problems.)
This PC is located at my father. I had to reinstall Ubuntu 12.10, as I did find
a solution to make 13.04 stable).

Installing Ubuntu 13.04 (64bit Gnome Remix) on PC2 - when runing NVidia driver
I got crashes quite frequently.
I now use the Nouveau driver - as boot crashes are currently down to 1/6 boots.

For both PC's, the crash will happen at boot. If any of the PC's booted with no
crash at boot, then everything works normally until shutdown of PC.
If boot crash happened I ended up in one of the situations:
- Blue screen (PC2) or dark red screen (PC1)
- A kernel error log is displayed in black console.
- PC just reboots without any error indication.

One odd thing I noticed, was that when pressing "Ctrl"-"Alt"-"Delete"
(in console after crash and keyboard was not dead), it appears that the
shutdown-to-reboot process was started. But in same second that this was
triggered, the Xorg desktop tried to start. The login screen was showed
with a message about running in low graphics. Going back to console I
notived that it had finished killing all processes, but was unalbe to
mount / file system.

By comparing a "good" and "bad" kernel log (dmesg), I have identified
following error:

Since I am in a situation that the boot is "sometimes successfull" and
"sometimes fails" - I would guess that there may be some race condition in the
boot process or kernel loading of modules.

Please help me with ideas to try.

Thanks
