Uptade on this:
ls /sys/devices/virtual/thermal/cooling_device*/cur_state | while read A; do 
echo 1 > $A; echo 0 > $A; done
does kill the fan, but it starts again when the processor gets to 50*C.

Before it was more like it was on a little bit all the time and spun up
when needed, now it is quiet for a while, spins up for a while, is quiet
for a while etc. Not sure if that is better or just annoying, I think it
is a bit annoying, but atleast it fixes the problem. It would be better
if the fan didn't shut down completely but was held on a low level (like
it behaves when started "normally") though. :)
