I ran the command for apport. I don't see any logs attached here, but supposedly information was sent to the developers according to apport.
** Description changed: Beginning with 12.10 I noticed that with each kernel upgrade the symlink /vmlinuz.old points to the new current kernel. I change the link manually each time, but it goes back to pointing to the new kernel with the next upgrade. --- ApportVersion: 2.9.2-0ubuntu8 Architecture: i386 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.04 InstallationDate: Installed on 2010-07-30 (1021 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS "Lucid Lynx" - Release i386 (20100429) MarkForUpload: True Package: grub2 (not installed) ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.8.0-21.32-generic 3.8.8 Tags: raring Uname: Linux 3.8.0-21-generic i686 UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to raring on 2013-04-30 (16 days ago) UserGroups: adm admin cdrom dialout lpadmin plugdev sambashare + --- + ApportVersion: 2.9.2-0ubuntu8 + Architecture: i386 + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.04 + InstallationDate: Installed on 2010-07-30 (1021 days ago) + InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS "Lucid Lynx" - Release i386 (20100429) + MarkForUpload: True + Package: grub2 2.00-13ubuntu3 + PackageArchitecture: i386 + ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.8.0-21.32-generic 3.8.8 + Tags: raring + Uname: Linux 3.8.0-21-generic i686 + UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to raring on 2013-04-30 (16 days ago) + UserGroups: adm admin cdrom dialout lpadmin plugdev sambashare -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1180752 Title: vmlinuz.old symlink points to new kernel after upgrade To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/1180752/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
