I've just done the same thing via the git tree, and also using apt-get source.
The line in question looks like this:
first_pd_entry_in_global_pt =
dev_priv->mm.gtt->gtt_total_entries - I915_PPGTT_PD_ENTRIES;
Which means that patch was applied.
I would try testing it to check this is working properly for you.
