1. I don't know what you mean by "latest mainline release". I used Ubuntu's 
update manager to get the latest.
2. The release that broke it started from 3.2.39. Release 38 is working fine, 
release 39 and on is not working.
3. I don't understand what is "bisect the bad commit"
