Public bug reported:
On a fresh install of Xubuntu 13.04, if you navigate in Thunar to a
directory with video files, Tumbler crashes when it tries to generate
the video thumbnails and wants to send an error report. If you then
install the various GStreamer plugins, Tumbler doesn't crash but still
won't generate the video thumbnails.
However, if you manually run tumblerd on the command line then navigate
to the video files, you can see that Tumbler is still quietly crashing
in the background, even though the video files play fine through the
GStreamer libraries. If you then disable the GStreamer back-end for
Tumbler and use the FFMPEG back-end for Tumbler instead, it works fine,
no crashing, and it generates the thumbnails normally.
So, the current version of Tumbler doesn't work properly when using the
GStreamer back-end.
