Public bug reported:
Feisty (haven't really looked with dapper) clean install, no updates
Automount is erratic.
Plug one usb flash drive with 2 partitions in it fat16 and ext3, it mounts
fat16 with my user as owner while it mount the ext3 with root as owner.
the next time it mounts both with correct user as owner.
After updates, it almost always mounts any USB drive in ext3 (flash or
HDD) with root as owner.
