Hi,
I've just tried the 5.0.1 after building it from the Gutsy packages and I can
confirm it is printing correctly.

As for the original performance bug report I'm not entirely sure; it is
faster than my Dad's old 4.x gimprint but I'm not comparing the same
machine; I think one confusing thing is that in the Gimp print dialogue
there is a drop down for print quality (standard/best/photo/etc) that
doesn't make any noticeable changes to the other dialog box entries and
it isn't obvious whether this is an extra setting or a change in default
values for other settings - so it is sometimes a bit difficult to get a
grip on the exact options being used.

Another issue (which I'm not sure whether to post it in gimp or cups or
gutenprint or where...) is that the creation of the print file on gimp
can be a substantial time (~30seconds on my core2 laptop) and while it
is doing that it doesn't start the printing - I guess this is normal
print spooling behaviour but from the point of view of the user with a
direct connect printer it feels silly!

Dave
