Same here, 98/99% cpu.
Only with --desktop.
Running pcmanfm with no arguments to get the ui is ok.

I tried removing ~/.config/pcmanfm to let it re-create from scratch but
it didn't help.

strace attached (3 seconds then ctrl-c)
