This is a wishlist bug.
I click on a slide in the Slides pane on the left. On the right in the
Tasks pane I select "Slide Transitions", and choose Fade Smoothly. The
transition icon below the slide thumbnail in the Slides pane does not
appear until the slide loses focus (in other words, I click anywhere but
that slide in the Slide pane).
Not big, just unintuitive. It's been one of those little things that
really bug me. (Get it? Bug me? Har har...)
