To be on the safe side, i've perfomed the following steps:
- remove nvidia-driver
- remove xorg.conf
- dpkg-reconfigure restricted-manager
- dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
- install nvidia-driver through restricted-manager
I had manually tweaked xorg.conf and was running the nvidia-glx-new
driver before, so..
However, now certain opengl apps CRASH the xserver!
The following:
glxgears (who would have guessed)
urban-terror
But not the glx-screensavers..
This happens with and without unredirect fullscreen windows
If you have got this working as it is supposed to, please specify either
steps, specific xorg.conf customizations, etc.
