I am already using the 3.9.00rc5 kernel which was recommended by one of the bug solvers. This kernel is working great for me. The GPU hang does not occur. So, I see no point in falling all the way back to a 3.5 kernel. I am also waiting for the 3.10 kernel since this kernel will have WIFI drivers for the wifi chip on my Lenovo IdeaCentre Q190. So for the present time I think I will stay where I am with 12.10.
