i have a GA-965G-DS3 Gigabyte motherboard. am using a feisty ubuntu
(gnome) installation with all the multimedia codecs loaded from the
community supported pages including restricted codecs. when launching
totem and navigating to a .mp3 file it will skip for about 3 minutes
with about 90-100% cpu resource time according to top (more like a
constant 100%) and using something like xmms will yield a low 4% with no
skipping.
