There is some documentation on GRUB[0], but basically you just need to comment out the following two lines in /etc/default/grub and then re-run 'sudo update-grub': GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT=10 GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT_QUIET=false
