I can't believe it that it is a known bug, I supposed it was a problem
related to some configuration error. I have Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit with 12
Gb of RAM and 12 Gb of swap and the problem happened also with previous
versions of Ubuntu.  When my RAM got full the system freezes, when I'm
lucky I am able to kill MATLAB by ssh login otherwise I need to restart
the system.  I tried to change the vfs_cache_pressure but nothing has
changed. If you confirm me that this is an Ubuntu bug I'll start to find
another distribution.
