Looks to me like Yuri's suggested fix works because usb-creator-gtk does from gi.repository import GUdev
so it needs GUdev to be installed and visible to Python, and (by default) it is not. Without spending time verifying this, I'd say the "fix" is probably just to make sure that the usb-creator-gtk package Recommends: the other packages it needs, including python-gudev and gir1.2-gudev-1.0 . That should be a one line edit to debian/control in the source package. I might even have a go in an Lubuntu Raring VM later. Those saying that installing these two packages does not fix it for them, please provide full details of the commands you ran to install them, and what happens when you then try to use usb-creator-gtk -- what error messages do you see, at what stage of using it? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1165200 Title: usb-creator-gtk fails to run on lubuntu13.04 beta 2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/usb-creator/+bug/1165200/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
