Looking at the Quantal kernel git tree, it looks like this is an issue
that should be fixed in the latest kernel (3.5.0-34.55 is currently in
-proposed) with the following upstream commit:
c5c72d814cf0f650010337c73638b25e6d14d2d4 ext4: fix online resizing for
ext3-compat file systems
I'm setting this bug to 'Fix Committed'. Please feel free to change the
status of this bug to 'Confirmed' again once you're able to reproduce it
with 3.5.0-34.55 or later kernels.
