Public bug reported:

the mplayer command-line utility does not exit when the playing of a
movie reaches its end and leaves the window open with the last frame
shown. this is qute annoying and makes playing multiple files useless.
user is forced to press q or esc which exits the application and does
not continue with the playlist.
