Reopening (confirming) this bug, as still present in Ubuntu 13.04; Even though uninstalling hdapsd is indeed a working fix (or work-around), I believe the kernel (or installer/automatic sw updater) should ultimately detect that the HD installed is an SSD, and thereby skip the install/enablement of hdapsd.
It might be that this shouldn't be reported as a bug in the first place, but rather as a feature request/suggested improvement.
