hi together, I can confirm the same thing here on my new bought Notebook.
Machine: Toshiba Satellite C850 1LQ I have wiped Windows off the HDD and found, that LinuxMint 15 does not support Installation with UEFI-boot enabled, so the only chance for me was, to disable it by pressing F2 at boot. This brings you into the BIOS and there go to "advanced" and there go to Systemconfiguration and there go to the boot-options. There select CSM rather than UEFI. Then presss F10 to save these changes and then reboot your machine. Only thi way let's you installl LinuxMint 15 Olivia. So we see, that UEFI currently is a messup and the death of many Notebooks. The thing is, that UEFI bricks many Samsung-machines letting them with an unusable machine an no OS booting anymore, if UEFI is enabled. Just read here: http://www.h-online.com/open/news/item/Booting-Linux-using-UEFI-can- brick-Samsung-laptops-1793958.html or even the warning here: http://www.pcworld.com/article/2027819/not-just-linux-windows-can-brick- samsung-laptops-too.html So do not use UEFI as long as this problem persists.
