This issue exist in Debian 6 with kernel 2.6.32. I haven't tested older 
kernels, but I can do that if it helps.
Bios (UEFI) of this laptop is very limited in terms of configuration, there is 
no usb configuration at all. This problem exists both in legacy and native uefi 
modes.
During bios initialization this port works. So I can plug there flash drive 
with live linux distribution and successfully see GRUB/Syslinux/etc from it. 
But during running initramfs LED on flash drive stops glowing and after timeout 
I see Busybox line with error about missing root partition.
