Hi, Ok. I disconnected my android device, then rebooted my ubuntu system and Empathy looged in flawlessly. Then rebooted several times and everything kept working great. Then I reconnected my android device, rebooted my ubuntu system, and it still works great.
So... there was something related to the android connection, but seems to be fixed now.
