I've switched to a new laptop with 8G in stead of 4G memory, and did not
run into the problem yet (it was a real usability problem for me). If I
can find the time, I'll try and (over)load my memory, go through a
suspend cycle and see if I can (or cannot) reproduce.

If I'd need to pick an older kernel to check if I can reproduce at all
on my new laptop, which one would you recommend?

(P.S., my previous reply via e-mail does not show up here, is that
expected behaviour?)
