I have experienced at least one symptom over the weekend (network
unresponsiveness) with no logged information. The only observable
behavior is that several auto-refreshing web services fail to obtain a
response from the server.

Wait, breaking news... Add one more symptom. SSH froze, so I began
pinging the server and received 'Destination Host Unreachable' for 288
pings, with 5:30 in clock drift and nothing logged to dmesg - or any
other log for that matter.
