A third workaround: If you pin (rightclick the tab and select Pin Tab) and then unpin a tab it is moved to the leftmost position of the unpinned tabs. It does not solve the issue but it could help you stay organized until the bug is fixed. The Pin Tab feature (which I just learned about) could just as well make you don't need the move tab functionality any more.
