Thank you to all the guys that responded to this very quickly.
I just want to say that I am also experiencing the same issue - my
monitor is connected via DisplayPort. It's a Dell U3011 - connecting to
an NVidia GeForce GTX680.
When I turn it off via the power button, and then switch it back on. I
must switch to a different TTY (CTRL+ALT+F#) and then back to TTY7
(CTRL+ALT+F7) - whereupon I am greeted by a bug/crash handler window
saying kdeinit4 has crashed.
For information, here is some data on my setup. If you want any more
info or logs or anything, just ask please! =)
