Hi I'm experiencing the same problem with Grub uefi. My system is a single OS rig with Ubuntu Gnome 13.04 installed using the 3.10 kernel (issues with a 7750 graphics card!). The Grub issue was also present before I upgraded the kernel from the Ubuntu kernel ppa.
My system boots OK but wont upgrade Grub and other than some unrelated performance issues works fine. Having done some research people appear to be having similar issues with Grub. When I checked in Synaptic a number of Grub related packages were installed some of which appear to be unnecessary. Obviously I didn't want to delete them and make my system unbootable, but was wondering which packages are required.
