Public bug reported:

Whenever I shutdown my computer, I see the following message on the
console:

Rather than invoking init scripts through /etc/init.d, use the service(8)
utility, e.g. service S15networking stop
initctl: Unknown job: S15networking

Since the script you are trying to invoke has been converted to an
Upstart job, you may also use the stop(8) utility, e.g. stop
S15networking

(As it can be read in the pictured linked:

I am suspicious this is also causing a delay of about 3 minutes to my shutdown
process, but I already reported a bug on that.
Tinkering yesterday I managed to find out that the S15networking file is a link
to the upstart-job script, but I haven't figured out what calls the script with
the old-fashioned command.
