On my system BleachBit deletes ~/.cache/mozilla too, but it doesn't
affect Firefox's ability to startup. I just tried it on another Ubuntu
system, and Firefox works OK after the directory is removed.

The purpose of storing the Firefox and other caches in one directory is
so they can be deleted using standard tools like BleachBit or "rm -rf
~/.cache".

So I think there may be something unique to your system.  For example,
maybe your Linux distribution has a special Firefox patch, or you have a
certain Firefox addon, or a Firefox setting that doesn't like the cache
being removed.
