I had a similar issue with my Asus ux32vd zenbook prime laptop.  This
problem affected windows as well as linux, the only way I was able to
resolve this is by pulling the cmos battery *(there was no cmos jumper)
waiting and waiting a while before putting it all back together again.

Reset to defaults from within the uefi bios menus did not work.  The
only way to fix this was a full cmos clear by pulling the battery.

Can someone else please attempt my uefi wipe fix to verify if this is a
widespread issue.
