Eclipse solved my problem. I did a new install of KUBUNTU, than installed Eclipse 3.8. (to get rid of the old installation) And from within Eclipse/Help I enter http://download.eclipse.org/windowbuilder/WB/release/R201209281200/4.2/ Than give <enter> and choose what is offered: windowbuilder,swing (and swt)
Attention KUBUNTU: the "Help/Install/Work with/ "Indigo Update Site - http://download.eclipse.org/releases/indigo/"; as given is too old for Eclipse 3.8 .
