Same as gizzmo, my system has no printer, so when i connect a parallel
port iomega drive to the system at boot, the dmesg log shows the parport
(?) finds a scsi device and ppa v2.0.7 logs a start mesage but there are
no subsequent debug indications that the ppa module successfully finds a
device to talk to. Hal does not appear to create a scsi block device in
/dev so there is no way to 'mount' the zipdrive. I have set my bios to
several choices such as 'auto' , bi-directional and ecp, but no
combination of choices appear to allow a succesful connection. Have even
tried using IMM in place of ppa and found similar messages as seen
above, but i don't know the difference. Will post further trace messages
and more complete review shortly.
