You have been subscribed to a public security bug by Seth Arnold (seth-arnold):
I've always had this problem.
1) Create a password with whitespaces in it.
2) Create a credentials file with the password set with \040 instead of spaces.
3) It doesn't work, now write it directly into fstab
4) It works.... this is a security issue since it makes one apt to placing
their password into fstab.
