@Ranier, Thanks for your persistence in resolving these bugs. I read through the history of in bug #1039143, and I agree with you that one aspect of this problem is unique to USB3 ports. I forwarded the discussion regarding this bug on the linux kernel mailing list to one of the xhci_hcd authors.
She would like to obtain usbmon log to confirm if this is related to a known bug in the xhci_hcd driver.
