I can concur with Michael's assessment. I've a Macbook Pro 8,1, with broadcom 4331 wifi chip. With raring, wifi was quite stable (I was using b43 then). Doing a clean-install of saucy, my wifi was highly unstable (using wl). I had same instability using b43.
I followed Michael's advice and installed a 3.8 kernel with bcmwl- kernel-source version 6.20, and I have reliable wifi once more. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1189611 Title: bcmwl-kernel-source 6.30.223.30+bdcom-0ubuntu1 fails to see 5GHz networks and is unstable on 2.5GHz To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bcmwl/+bug/1189611/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
