The problem must be xfce4-wm, as other applications do take touches.
However, I can't seem to touch the content of a website in firefox
either. After clicking once with the mouse I am able to click anywhere
on the website, but other GUI elements do not respond any more.

I've noticed a difference between the info that xinput-test generates when
clicking:
A mouse: button press 1
The touch screen: button press 1 a[0]=61 a[1]=1977 a[2]=1

My xinput list:
⎡ Virtual core pointer id=2 [master pointer (3)]
⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointer id=4 [slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ Mosart Wireless Mouse id=9 [slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ eGalaxTouch Virtual Device for Multi id=10 [slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ eGalaxTouch Virtual Device for Single id=11 [slave pointer (2)]
⎣ Virtual core keyboard id=3 [master keyboard (2)]
↳ Virtual core XTEST keyboard id=5 [slave keyboard (3)]
    ↳ Power Button id=6 [slave keyboard (3)]
    ↳ Power Button id=7 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ CHICONY HP Basic USB Keyboard id=8 [slave keyboard (3)]

Native drivers have the same issue as the EETI driver.
