One more tip for anyone who might still be having problems with this. Remmina continues to run in the background even after you've either clicked on the close button or via the connection close menu option which means that even if you've removed the PPA's libraries, the running instance is still referencing the shared object. To resolve this, you must make sure that there are no other instances of Remmina running before you start up a new instance or else Remmina will simply show the currently running instance and never release it's handle on the defective shared object.
