Public bug reported:

On my system gnote's tray icon disappears after some time.
gnote process is still visible in process list (ps ax | grep -i gnote)

The strange thing is that gnote's icon becomes visible for a short time
while switching workspaces!

Restarting panel (killall unity-panel-service) doesn't help.

The only way to get gnote back to panel is to kill the process and
restart gnote.
