The implementation would not be very complicated. After a network URI
was selected, either from auto-detected network printers or from
manually entered ones (protocols socket://, lpd://, ipp://) a

hp-makeuri <IP or host name>

is performed and if this gives an hp://... URI, the current URI is
replaced by the hp://... URI.
