I also have this bug on two laptops. I made a copy of my Xorg.0.log BEFORE switching user and AFTER coming back to the initial user session.
I compared the two files with diff and I attached that file to this message so you can see what exactly happens in Xorg between the moment you switch user and the moment you come back to the initial user session. There's a presence of very suspicious lines : Synaptics DeviceOff called Synaptics DeviceOn called These lines appears EXACTLY at the moment that a switch to another user and at the moment I switch back to the initial user. However, the mouse doesn't work anywere else than the first user session, not even in the welcome screen or other user session. ** Attachment added: "Xorg.0.log_diff-ns" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/8682923/Xorg.0.log_diff-ns -- Synaptics touchpad stops working in new user session https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/60544 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
