1. The original poster (Roman Stingler) clearly stated this: "When I
downgrade gtk3* from 3.8.2-1 to 3.4.2-6 it works again." Unfortunately,
he marked the bug as "done" while there was no fix but only a local
workaround.

2. The bug affect a lot more software and is really in gtk3-engines-unico: 
http://bugs.debian.org/706330
The error messages shown there are visible via dmesg.

3. The bug appeared after upgrading libgtk-3 to 3.8.0, which is the case
for Debian Testing but not yet the case for Ubuntu (unless you wish to
report bugs for Saucy, which is not released yet).
