If you want to have klamav upgrade clamav and/or klamav, you need to
have the build dependencies installed (I'm in the process of updating
the Gutsy version of Klamav to describe this). You do that in Konsole
using "sudo apt-get build-dep clamav klamav".
That said, if you are running Gutsy, the latest clamav is in the
repositories. If you are on Feisty, it's available in feisty-backports.
Since it's available from the repositories, you are better off to get it
there as it has the latest Kubuntu specific patches that aren't present
in the upstream version. If you are on Dapper/Edgy, the shipped clamav
had a different interface than the current one and upgrading will likely
break applications (such as Klamav) the use it. We are working on
fixing this, but it takes a lot of testing.
