Public bug reported:
Installed Lubuntu 12.10 and on first boot from hard disk got a system
error. Responding to the software updater caused it to vanish after I
entered my password so I rebooted. Trying to run software updater I got
an error and followed the instruction to open terminal and typed sudo
apt-get update, got an error and was told to type sudo dpkg --configure
-a and got the crash which directed me here.
