The problem is still the same (as described in post #1 ) with the latest
upstream release-candidate of kernel 3.11 (r5).

octavian@octavian-tm2:~$ uname -r
3.11.0-031100rc5-generic

however there was no package "linux-image-extra*" or "pae" (like listed
in the wiki).


PS: I've tested some more, seems like the periode, my PC hangs is a bit random 
but on average it's still the same amount of time as before doing BIOS and 
kernel-mainline upgrades.
