There are problems with multiple versions of nethack, nethack-gnome and
nethack-qt
nethack-gnome is broken. You can get to the character select screen and
then it crashes with GTK errors...

nethack-qt is broken. Attempting to run the game produces no results
apart from a cpu load of 90%. (pic included)
The keyboard commands for "nethack" in the console are wrong. Basic
movement can not be done with the arrow keys. The movement problem isn't
a bug but has been configured wrong. The keys should follow the standard
nethack defaults.
