Joseph, I went so far as to use a fully installed Ubuntu 13.04 hardware machine - though non-touchscreen based on availability (as opposed to my Ubuntu 13.04 on vmware player development environment on my XPS 18 touch), for the purpose to do all this all over again, including your tips/suggestions from 19, 31, 38. While I found I was successful at installing your linux-image*.deb packages on the hardware machine (and was also successful to boot to your 3.11 kernel linux-image - unfortunately not on a touchscreen) and then used uck to build a bootable LiveCD of Ubuntu 13.04 plus your kernel 3.11 linux-image*.deb packages, and verified the packages and their files did install, etc. and no errors. But when I boot up from the LiveCD on the same machine, I get the same result as post 27
Ubuntu . . . . (followed by) Busybox v1.20.2 (Ubuntu 1:1.20.0-8ubuntu1) ... initramfs unable to find medium containing live file system. Keep in mind this is in contrast to when I use uck to build an Ubuntu 13.04 LiveCD without adding your kernel linux-image .deb package customizations, it boots just fine. So, it doesn't seem like I can make your linux-image work on a LiveCD to test on my Dell XPS 18 touch. (And I cannot currently wipe it to do a local hw install of Ubuntu due to other needs.) At this point, if you can build a working LiveCD that I can try, would be about all that might help this along.
